My experience with TGR Happyness Circle, Chakra meditation

Chakra Meditation @TGR Happyness Circle

This Sunday morning was special. It started with Mother Nature giving me an experience to cherish for a life time. At dawn, as usual, I looked out at the Eastern horizon to see the sunrise, and was greeted with a blanket of mist that covered the ground from East to West. From the 20th floor, it looked like I was sitting on the clouds and viewing the earth waking up lazily on a Sunday morning.

The construction site half a kilometer away was shrouded in mist and the lights were struggling to fulfill their purpose. Though the sun was steadily rising, the mist was determined to shut out the sunlight from our sight. It was palpable this fight between the sun and the mist. Waves of mist were heading East to beat the Sun and protect the Earth from this light. This battle had an unexpected side effect. The sky was lit with so many different colours, mauve, pink, blue, violet, yellow, orange, red, purple, indigo that it looked like a kaleidoscope that had gone crazy.
I left home at 6:20 am to drive the 25 kms for the TGR Happyness Circle meet at Nandanam and was stunned to see that visibility was less than 10 feet. The mist was winning the fight and the sun was struggling to push in a few rays of light through this thick blanket of darkness. I was grateful for the sparse to non-existent traffic, so I could safely navigate towards my destination.
Luckily as I passed Sholinganallur, the Sun was winning the battle and visibility had increased to 30 feet or more and I could make better time in reaching my destination. By the time I reached the city, the mist had given up and retreated into hiding and the day looked as normal as ever. I wondered whether the city denizens were even aware that this epic fight had taken place between two worthy opponents.
This week’s session was Chakra Meditation. I was eager not to be late and thankfully I wasn’t. I reached in time to meet all those who were there and helped them set up the place for the session. My help was in the form of giving final touches to the arrangement of pebbles to symbolize the human form, the seated variety.

The session started as usual at 7:15 am with Murali lighting 7 candles and placing them in this form.
The sight of these candles in this form sent electric currents through my spine. And I was looking forward to what was going to happen next.

The sessions started with the usual preparatory rituals of saying the universal prayer, So Hum breathing and meditation, sitting in silence and the unique introduction story by one of the participants.
Then Happyness Coach Murali introduced the topic of the day and got into the meat of the session.
This was what I learnt there.
We are not just a physical body. We also have an energy body that drives our physical body. Behind this is a subtle system that controls and drives our energy and our body. These are chakras and nadis. Nadis are highways of energy that travel in a helical form from toe to head. Chakras are located wherever nadis crisscross each other. These Chakras act as inter-dimensional portals that allow us to have access to the necessary energy to live our life experiences in an abundant state.  The free flow of energy through our chakras ensure smooth flow of vital energy, providing health and vitality to our physical body
The seven most powerful chakras are:
  1. Mooladhara Chakra (Base / Root)
  2. Swadishtana Chakra (Sacral / Sexual)
  3. Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus)
  4. Anahata Chakra (Heart)
  5. Vishudhi Chakra (Throat)
  6. Ajna Chakra (Brow)
  7. Sahasrara Chakra (Crown)

I also discovered that each chakra has its own colour and its own unique sound. Murali explained about each of these chakras and its associated colours, sounds and what it does for us. The low lighting and the candles laid on each of the chakras created a fabulous environment and the room was filled with expectation and an ethereal feel that we were going to experience something wonderful.
Murali started off the meditation with us visualizing the chakra and its associated colours and followed it up with one more round with the associated sound added to it

I could feel the tingle of the chakra and the energy coursing through them. It was the most powerful TGR session that I have attended till date and I was glad that I had not missed it.
At the end of the session, we were all totally in a trance and did not feel like leaving. We had so many questions and Murali and others answered each one patiently and there was so much of knowledge sharing that we overstayed in that hall by almost 45 mins putting the hall organizers in a tizzy because they had to get it ready for the next program
Thank you Murali and all the participants for providing the perfect ambience for me to experience Chakra Meditation.
